Video essay: The End of the Line

The refugee and migrant 'crisis' has been in the headlines for the last year - but is it really a crisis? In this film I take an alternative look and ask what it really means for you, me and the future of our way of life.

I was initially very reluctant to make this film: the refugee crisis is such a complex, fast moving and controversial subject that I feared any attempt to explore it in the video essay format would be futile. While it hasn't been as popular as other films, I do feel that I presented a coherent argument in a strong visual way. I'm particularly proud of some of the subtle meanings conveyed symbolically through the selection and juxtaposition of images.
