Video Essay: The Man Who Turned Paper Into Pixels

This video essay asks how we transitioned to a digital world. It turns out that it's all based on a surprisingly simple idea, for which we have a mathematician called Claude Shannon to thank. This essay tells his story and attempts to explain the idea of Information Theory in an accessible way. I stumbled on Claude Shannon in a book in the library and was so surprised and delighted by the simple explanation of Information Theory I knew this had to be my next video essay. This is the first film where I really start to use Story Design in an active way, and even begin to use some basic visual devices.
